What is Medical Manual Therapy?
There are many different kinds of massage therapy and various massage therapy techniques.  Medical massage strictly follows clinically proven techniques that provide health benefits and pain relief.  Therapeutic massage is most often practiced as recreational or relaxation massage and some of their techniques could actually inflict unnecessary pain and/or aggravate the condition.  Medical massage is a specific system that helps to heal connective tissues that are related to conditions of nerve and joint pain, improper glands and organ functions and other related symptoms.

Medical massage therapy is based on your body's physiology such as nociceptors and mechanoreceptors and their scientific function in connective tissues.  Nociceptors and Mechanoreceptors are very widely spread throughout the body's tissues.  Almost all conditions treated by our medical massage therapists involve nociceptive symptoms and can be improved through mechanoreceptor stimulation.

Simply stated, we will access your pains and/or conditions by examining your body's joints and tissues, and then apply medical massage treatment methods to help your own body's healing process.
